About Steam Cleaner Center

Updated on

Steam Cleaner Center is an independent buying-guide site for steam mops and wet-dry floor cleaners. We help you work out which kind of machine fits your floors and which models are worth a look.

We write for homeowners who want clean floors without jargon. You won't need to know what a brush roll or a dual-tank system is, because we explain it in plain words.

What we cover

Our guides cover steam mops and wet-dry vacuum mops from brands like Shark, Bissell, Tineco, Hoover and roborock. We sort picks by what you clean, such as tile and grout, vinyl, laminate and hardwood.

We also explain the everyday questions, like which water to use, how to care for pads and tanks, and what to do when a steam mop stops heating.

What we do

For every machine we cover, we read the specs, the features and the maker's own information. We also look at what buyers often say after living with one.

Then we turn it into plain guides, side-by-side matchups and clear picks. You can read more on our How we research page.

What we don't do

We don't make or sell steam mops or floor cleaners, and no brand pays us to rank its products.

Steam Cleaner Center is not affiliated with Shark, Bissell, Tineco or any other maker, and it is not tied to any other website or business.

We don't claim to have tested every machine ourselves. When we pick something, we tell you why, based on its specs, its features and buyer feedback.

We also don't replace your floor maker's care guide. Steam and water can harm some floors, so check that guide before you buy.

How we earn money

Some links on this site go to stores like Amazon. If you buy through them, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.

That never changes which products we pick. Our affiliate disclosure has the details.
